I got into Comikaze pop-culture convention early on Friday afternoon, about a half an hour after the show started, and was able to grab some pictures before the crowd showed up. Take a look below at some of the interesting things I saw while at the Los Angeles Convention Center event.

I headed down to Designer Con in Pasadena and have to say, it was an awesome gig. For those not in the know, Designer Con is a convention dedicated to vinyl art, figures, collectibles, plush toys and more. So basically, a lot of cool stuff.

I have been to many geek-centric events and was pleasantly surprised by this event. Not because I expected it to suck, but because I didn't expect the level of participation, the amount of unique vendors, the creative people I meet, the real positive energy Dcon had. Yeah, it was that cool. I spent a couple of hours there checking things out, bought a few pieces and had a great time. I'm newer to the vinyl buying gig, but even for a newbie like me, I was able to have an incredible time. Good job to the Designer Con team. I even got to hang with popular cosplayer Tanya Tate.
