#TOYS: Our Batman Classic TV Series Collection by Mattel, So Far... “Holy Hunting”

Ever since the release of the Batman Classic TV series figures by Mattel, we’ve been on the hunt! These figures are available online through Entertainment Earth, Big Bad Toy Store among many others. But that’s too easy. Where’s the fun in that!

Batman, Classic TV Series, Figures, 1966, action figures, Mattel, Batmobile, Toys R Us, Exclusive, Batusi TV, Batusi, Shag, SDCC, The Joker, The Penguin, Surf Batman, Robin, Batman & Robin

I remember the days of collecting figures by going store to store trying to find the ones you want before Internet sales where available. So we decided to go back into time when we were teen collectors and do it old school. So far we’ve been pretty lucky in the past couple of weeks. We picked up the Batman and Robin 2-pack, regular Batman, The Riddler & The Penguin on cards. While we were at Comic Con, we picked up the Batusi TV Shag box set for $35. We missed out on the Toys “R” Us exclusive Batmobile while at the “Con” that fits the Classic TV Series 6 inch figures. But we were lucky to have gotten that through the Toys R Us site for $59.99. Yes, we cheated a little on that order. But it was our only chance! They sell-out like hotcakes! LOL. We were not going to pay aftermarket eBay prices, that’s for sure!

So the hunt continues for The Joker and Surf Batman. The Catwoman figures does not release until next month. But she’s definitely a must-have! We’ve been having success on the carded figures at Walmart for $15.97ea. We picked up the Batman and Robin 2-pack at our local Toys “R” Us for $34.99. We’ve been checking Target weekly but it seems that they have not stocked these figures yet.

You know, I’ve always enjoyed picking up figures in person myself. If there’s more than one available you get the check them out, pick out the best paint job, make sure that the packaging doesn’t have any creases, it’s just a better experience.

So far we’ve been extremely happy with the figures we picked up. The carded figures come with stands and collectible cards that are incredible. There seems to be a puzzle on the back of the cards that may complete a picture when you’ve collected them all, but we only have 3 cards so it’s hard to tell. The figures have many, many points of articulation so you could pose them anyway you want. The quality and the paint application are amazing and they resemble the TV actors down to every detail.

We will post pictures of the Batmobile once we receive it & will continue to update you on recent scores. We can’t wait!

Thanks for checking this out! Good luck on your hunts for these Classic figures.
