The Vinylmation Silly Symphony Series was just released last week and the Skeleton Dance chaser has been an ultimate chase for Vinylmation addicts. I, myself have been excited about this series ever since the announcement. Most folks on the Facebook Vinylmation collecting & trading groups had no interest in this series at all. 95% of members said they would pass on this series. Probably because Walt Disney Silly Symphony was before their time and the characters in the series are unrecognizable to them. Well, until the Skeleton Dance chaser popped up on eBay and the auction ended at over $100! That got every body's attention. I've been collecting Vinylmation for a few years now and have never seen a new chaser go for that much on the second market. So, NOW everybody wants a piece of the Silly Symphony action!
I also think the the Halloween season has helped push this chaser over the top.
The rest of the series includes: Abner the Mouse (The Country Cousin, 1936), Ambrose (The Robber Kitten, 1935), Elmer Elephant (Elmer Elephant, 1936), Evil Tree (Flowers and Trees, 1932), Old King Cole (Mother Goose Melodies, 1931), Ugly Duckling (The Ugly Duckling, 1939), Boogey-Man (Lullaby Land, 1933) and of course The Skeleton Dance chaser from the 1929 short animated film.
The series comes blind-boxed and retails for $12.95ea. or a case of 16 for $207.20 which guarantees you one awesome chaser. Buy at the Parks or online at the Disney Store. Good Luck! Happy Haunting!
It’s been 35 years since Michael Myers stared terrorizing Haddonfield in his Bill Shatner mask, and this November he comes home - to Pasadena. 35 Years of Terror celebrates the Halloween franchise in the town where most of the original moves was filmed.
The convention runs November 15th - 17th, 2013 and takes place at the Pasadena Convention Center located at 300 East Green Street. At this time no events are yet listed on the site, but plenty of guests are. PJ Soles (“See anything you like”), Nick Castle, Dick Warlock, Tom Atkins, Danielle Harris, Don Shanks, Tyler Mane, Ken Foree and so many others from the series are set to attend.
I actually went to the 30 Years of Terror con and had a great time. If I can dig them up, I’ll post pictures I took from the event. Met a lot of the Halloween alumni, saw some great props on display; I really recommend going.
Ticket and other info can be found on the show’s official site, right here.
To get you in the mood, pick the newly released Halloween 35th Anniversary Edition Blu-ray from Anchor Bay. It just debuted last week and has some very nifty new bonus features including commentary from John Carpenter and Jamie Lee Curtis. That can be bought here.
The Breaking Bad series ended with a bang last night, and it was nothing short of incredible. Hot on the heels of the series finale is release of this incredibly cool box set that contains the entires series as well as lots of extras.
Shaped like one of Walter White’s money barrels, this new set includes No Half Measures - an all new 2-hour documentary on the series, Los Pollos Hermanos apron (remember that place?), a 16 page booklet with letter from Vince Gilligan, a commemorative challenge coin designed by Vince Gilligan and over 55 hours of special features from all seasons. It’s a really well put together package that gives a proper send off to one of television’s finest shows.
I’m all in for this type of merchandising, and this one is tops. The set doesn’t street until November 26th (just in time for Christmas) but you can pre-order this bad boy now to make sure you get in on this.

I received a press release about a really cool project called Black Tiger: Hunter Hunted. It’s a short films and it sounds really cool and stars some very talented people. Alamo City Comic Con will get the honor of presenting the first look of Black Tiger: Hunter Hunted on October 26, 2013. So, if you are going to that con, make sure you check it out. Here is more info about Black Tiger: Hunter Hunted from Beyond Time, Inc. and Kid Heroes Productions:
Today, Disney's Facebook page released the first official photo of the new Marvel Vinylmation series. The picture includes a very famous trio of heroes we all know. IRON MAN, CAPTAIN AMERICA & THE INCREDIBLE HULK! Wow, the 3 inch solid vinyl figures look great. They were created by Disney artist Thomas Scott. Yes, those are Mickey ears on their heads. Vinylmation figures use the same mold for all their series. So you get some cool hero figures with a hint of some Disney magic.
We have seen some promo cards of these figures given out at the D23 event in Anaheim this past August. But those were illustrations of the figures. And at the 13 Reflections of Evil Event in Florida this month, they had the set on display. We know the set will include Captain America, Iron Man, Hulk, Nick Fury, Dr. Strange, Black Panther, Vision, Black Widow, Spider Man, Spider Woman, Thor & a mystery Chaser. I also heard there will be a couple of variants as well.
Vinylmation Marvel Series 1 set release Friday, Oct. 11th for $12.95 each blindbox. They will be released at both Walt Disney World & Disneyland locations and available online later this fall at the Disney Store.
Funko’s POP! vinyl figures have really caught on in “pop”-ularity. Some of the early releases have started to fetch a hefty sum in the secondary markets, like eBay. One such pair of figures are the Emerald City Comic Con exclusive Star Wars Han Solo and Luke Skywalker in Stormtrooper uniforms. This set was initially limited to 1008 pieces of each figure and have now become extinct. One of these highly sought after sets can currently be found on eBay right here.
Another Star Wars figure that is really hot, is Greedo. Released as part of the first wave of Funko’s POP vinyl bobble heads, he was the first to be retired of the series and was missed by a lot of fans. The hard to find Cantina customer has been known to demand over $100. Here is a Greedo on eBay for just about half of that if you want to get in on the bidding now.
Ready to drop some loot? Lots of good stuff out on Blu-Ray today and I have made a check list of the notable releases
If you dig superheroes, horror and hot anime chicks, you’ll want to take a look at these new releases:

Julie will be attending the Hollywood Show where fans can meet the star for autographs and photos. The Hollywood Show is taking place at The Westin Los Angeles Airport at 5400 W Century Blvd.

Everyone knows these creatures as the Universal Monsters, and the vintage black-and-white movies in which they starred over half a century ago. Uglydolls show off their love for the Universal Monsters! Dressed like the most popular Universal Monsters, Ice-Bat (as Dracula), Tray (as the Bride), Wedge-head (as the Frankenstein Monster), Big Toe (as the Creature), Ox (as the Wolfman), and Babo (as the Mummy) are adorable as 11-inch plush! As cute as can be & just in time for the Halloween season. Pre-order at Entertainment Earth.
Sideshow Collectibles showed off the Sixth Scale Batman figures from the 1966 film at SDCC this year. WOW! POW! BAM! KA-BOOM... HOLY S#*T, They are incredible! We were blown away. I remember just standing in front of the display case in amazement. I believe there was a bit of drool involved as well.
My first question in my head was "When will these go on sale? I need these!" I finally got the answer. I received a email from Sideshow yesterday with the links to the Pre-order. You can per-order now and these guys will ship in April 2014. Yes, it's 7 months away, but it's going to be worth the wait. These will sell-out I'm sure. So, don't hesitate too long. This would be a great gift to ask Santa for this year.
Adam West is and will always be the BEST Batman of all time! This figure features every detail you can imagine. Approximately 12 inches tall with 30 points of articulation. Retail on this hero is $205. But Sideshow has got you cover with a monthly payment option if needed.

Robin will stand nicely along with his partner in crime. He's a must as well. Again, the detail is insane. Burt Ward as the Boy Wonder is a all-time american hero classic. Are you ready for more Game of Thrones Funko POP vinyl figures? Have a look at this exciting Amazon.com exclusive three-pack that will be packaged with the upcoming re-release of the Game of Thrones Blu-ray set of season one and two. Both of these seasons have been released before, the only difference that I am aware of is, that aside from the sets bundled together, is the inclusion of the POP vinyl figures.
Unfortunately, if you are a hardcore fan, like me, you probably already have these Blu-ray sets. Argh, LOL.
What comes in this set are three figures; Khal Drogo, Daenerys Targaryen, and her dragon Rhaegal. let’s take a look at them, shall we?
Daenerys Targaryen (Khaleesi) - She is a repaint of the figure from series one. This time she looks like she has been through a bit of a hard time.
Khal Drogo - Also a repaint from series one, a little more bloodier though. He must have just finished battle.
Rhaegal - As far as I know this one is an entirely new sculpt. Which makes it even harder to turn down this set. My collection won’t be complete with out it.
While I understand the figures are generally going to be seen as an extra incentive for newer fans to buy the first two seasons. For collectors like us, I have no idea what I am going to do with the extra sets of Game of Thrones season one and two... Christmas gifts? Ebay?
The big question is...are you going to buy this set? LMK by leaving a comment below or you can always follow me on Twitter - @TanyaTate. Also you can see my reviews for the Game of Thrones Funko POP vinyl figures right here.
Pre-order the set now. It’s scheduled for a November release.

For Immediate Release: September 12th, 2013
(Hollywood, CA) Cosplay superstar Tanya Tate (http://www.justalottatanya.com) continues her geek media immersion with the debut of her customizable vinyl action figure platform; My Hero Toys! Tanya is set to make a signing appearance at the Powercon convention, the annual celebration of the He-Man and the Masters of the Universe franchise. The event is scheduled to take place this weekend September 14th and 15th in Torrance, California. A noted cosplayer (costume player), Tanya has been featured on a multitude of geek centric sites for her fun and sexy take on her hobby. As an added attraction, Tanya has created a vinyl figure platform which she will be displaying at Powercon. My Hero Toys! is the line of vinyl figures Tanya is set to produce and release in 2014. In the shape of a female superhero, My Hero Toys! will allow customizers to design their own characters or re-create a pop culture or comic book hero.
“Powercon is one of my favorite events,” said Tanya. “I wanted to do something special and unveiling this project that I have been working on for most of 2013 seemed like the right thing to do. I am entering the customizable and collectible vinyl figure market next year and hope that fans of this genre will support it.”
On the My Hero Toys! platform Tanya plans to also produce a limited run of her character she created Lady Titan. A prototype of the figure will also be on display at Powercon.
Customizable vinyl figure platforms have become a popular hobby. From artists using the base to express their creativity to fans opening their imagination, vinyl figures have become part of pop culture.
The genesis of Tanya’s My Hero Toys! project comes from her cosplay origins. “I simply wanted a customizable vinyl figure that was in the shape of a female superhero. There were not any on the market. So I created one.” Tanya Tate’s My Hero Toys! customizable vinyl figure will be available first quarter 2014. More information will be available on MyHeroToys.com.
Tanya has created a video to promote her upcoming Powercon appearance. The video can be seen here: http://bit.ly/TTPC2013.
