I knew my wife wanted the ET Extra Terrestrial Blu-ray, moreso I knew she wanted the little stuffed toy that came with it as part of the Wal-mart exclusive box set and the ET Extra Terrestrial Blu-ray. And knowing I would not be able to get to Wal-mart on release date, I would run the risk of it selling out. Couldn't have that, now could I? My other option was to pre-order it and have it delivered to the pad.
So I did, with the slight expectation that the product I had ordered from Wal-mart would arrive in a "straight off the store shelf" condition.
Which was not the case. You see, I'm use to ordering from Amazon, which I do on the regular, and I have never had an issue with their shipping. They usually pack whatever product I am ordering in a secure cardboard box. However from Wal-mart, this was not the case. This is how my set arrived. Crushed.
Wal-mart shipped my E.T. set in a padded mailing envelope. Gee, thanks guys.
Now, in my youth I use to work shipping and it doesn't take much thought to know how to properly pack something. So, it boggles my mind why some one at Wal-Mart shipping thought that this thinly padded envelope would protect my purchase. Either they suck at their job or they just didn't care. Either way that is not encouraging me to again order from Wal-mart.
Let this be my cautionary tale if you plan on ordering from these clowns. Your product will not be packed with care.
